Well, the move absolutely failed. Feh. ParsGB either went down or cancelled my acount. Whatever.
So today I decided to update my computer to Mac OS 10.4.9 (Yay, the end of the line for Tiger has been reached. Too bad I jumped on the bandwagon way too late, with my MacBook Pro in Nov. 2006.)
Unfortunately, I have to sit out in my backyard to guide this thing through the update as I have no solid internet at my house yet. More on that in a minute.
So far, I can say that 10.4.9 has an entire slew of improvements for the various applications, such as the iApps (iCal, iSync, etc. ), and its a ~160 MB download, for Intel Macs, at least.
I tried to download on my school’s network (T1 line, should be super fast, right?), but alas, so many people were hitting the school’s network during that time, so it would take around 60 minutes, more time than I had to blow. So I took the thing home, sat outside, jacked some sap’s wireless bandwidth, and got the update.

Update: Got the download.
I have noticed a few performance enhancements. AirPort works a LOT better on my Core2 Duo MacBook Pro. It’s able to maintain a connection a lot better than ever before. Not sure if its a side-effect of the 802.11n Enabler, but hey, can’t complain.
Also, a biggie for MacBook Pro C2D owners like myself. The Volume has been fixed. I get audible sound at ONE bar on the Sound Control Panel. ONE BAR! Holy hell, Apple listened to our complaints! Before, I had to turn it up to 4 bars to even get AUDIBLE sound.
So far, the update seems to be all good. I’ll post more as I discover more.
